The Academic and Student Affairs team enables and advocates for the academic and personal success of each engineering student from the time they first consider applying to Dartmouth or Thayer School of Engineering through the time they walk across the stage at Commencement.

Services

  • Host prospective undergraduate and graduate student visitors at Thayer and liaise with Undergraduate Admissions and Thayer faculty to implement student recruitment initiatives
  • Oversee admissions and financial aid processes for Thayer graduate students
  • Organize Orientation, Investiture, and Commencement
  • Manage course registration, classroom scheduling, and TA assignments
  • Ensure successful completion of BE, MEM, MEng, MS, and PhD degree requirements
  • Administer the ENGS majors/minors and the Partner School Dual Degree Program
  • Lead program assessment though exit interviews, student surveys and course evaluations
  • Manage programs such as undergraduate international engineering exchange programs, Dartmouth Emerging Engineers (first year tutoring and mentoring program), First Year Research in Engineering, and Winterim (mini-courses offered during winter break)
  • Oversee and instruct components of the ENGM 387 Professional Skills course
  • Advise students with academic, conduct, advisor communication, or other issues
  • Provide assistance in navigating academic accommodations related to disability, illness, or other personal issues
  • Support student organizations’ social and community building initiatives
  • Support student group and individual co-curricular endeavors that serve to develop technical, mentoring, and leadership skills
  • Define and uphold policies that provide for a safe, inclusive, and productive environment at Thayer
