Why Dartmouth?

I picked Dartmouth MEM because it sits right at the crossroads of who I am and who I want to become. Thayer lets me stay hands on with the tech I love while sharpening the business instincts I’ll need to lead product teams. The tight-knit 65-student cohort, professors who actually know your story, and a culture that prizes curiosity over credentials all told me: this is where I’ll grow fastest. In short, Dartmouth gives me the tools, the people, and the runway to move from “engineer who builds” to “leader who builds what matters.”

Why Dartmouth?

I chose the Dartmouth MEM program for a number of reasons. It was actually the Milwaukee School of Engineering that convinced me to pursue an MEM program, but it was a combination of my thesis advisor, a Thayer alum, and four years spent in the northeast that persuaded me to choose Dartmouth. Dartmouth has excellent academics, but learning outside of lab or lecture is vital for a complete education. When the people I trusted recommended Dartmouth for both curriculum and community, I listened.

Undergraduate Education

Engineering Sciences, minor in Astronomy, Dartmouth College (Hanover, NH)

Previous Work Experience

Systems Engineering Intern, Honeywell Aerospace (Clearwater, FL)

Systems Engineering Intern, GEOST, a Rocket Lab Company (Tucson, AZ)

Why Dartmouth?

While I was working as an intern at GEOST, the company experienced financial difficulties and underwent restructuring. Without warning, they fired ~25% of the company, including my entire engineering team and all of my bosses. Watching the aftermath of this process—struggles with severance, health insurance, labor laws, looking for new positions, and the complete devastation this process brought on my friends—led me to critical leadership and business questions. What did my bosses’ bosses do to try to prevent this? How could my team have seen this coming? Why did management fire these employees in particular? Where was the company going next? If I were a company leader, how would I have handled this situation differently—or better? As I sat with these questions, I realized I want more from my career than pure engineering. I want to interface between engineers and non-engineers. I want to manage. I want to lead. And I want to be good at it. From there, it was only logical to apply to Dartmouth's MEM program. For the last four years of my undergraduate studies, Dartmouth and Thayer have empowered me. The interdisciplinary ethos, supportive culture, experiential learning style, and strong community in Hanover have helped me grow into an engineer and a person I am proud of. I look forward becoming the best leader possible in the MEM program.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering, National Institute of Technology Calicut (India)

Why Dartmouth?

I chose Dartmouth’s MEM program for two reasons. First, the smaller cohort creates a space where learning feels personal and fast-paced—you grow by being around driven peers. Second, learning from both Thayer and Tuck is a rare chance to build depth in engineering and business, which sets you up to lead in tech-driven roles.
