Throughout the past year, the Design Initiative at Dartmouth (DIAD) has hosted numerous events to introduce more alumni, friends of Dartmouth, as well as the broader Dartmouth community to the power of design thinking.

Future of Design in Higher Education (June 2023 | Hanover, NH)

A conference of design faculty and thought leaders from higher education institutions across the nation.

Speculation By Design: The Dartmouth Speculative Fiction Project (April 2023 | Hanover, NH)

An interdisciplinary collaboration with eight fiction writers to create an anthology of short stories that explore the future of humanity. Author/faculty pairs used design methods and mindsets to stimulate cross-disciplinary explorations of the professors’ research, and conducted public readings and panel-discussions about speculative fiction today.

Unlocking Creativity (February 2023 | Beverly Hills, CA)

An event hosted by Tony Pritzker ‘82 to gather alumni, parents, and friends to learn about how Dartmouth faculty are empowering students to become collaborative innovators who are designing solutions for a better world.
