"Measuring Total Density and Modeling Mass Density"
There are significant problems measuring the total plasma density because of spacecraft charging and the low flux of low energy particles. But wave measurements can be used to measure the total electron and mass density. Here I show some problems with a database of particle instrument density measurements, show evidence that density based on wave measurements are fairly accurate, discuss methods for modeling, and show and discuss models for mass density.
