ENGS 155 - Intermediate Thermodynamics
Description
The concepts of work, heat and thermodynamic properties are reviewed. Special consideration is given to derivation of entropy through information theory and statistical mechanics. Chemical and phase equilibria are studied and applied to industrial processes. Many thermodynamic processes are analyzed; the concept of exergy is used to evaluate their performance and identify ways to improve their efficiency.Prerequisites
