ENGG 295.10 - Supervised Teaching Assistant
Description
Students enrolled in this course will work with a faculty member to serve as a teaching assistant for an engineering course. Students are expected to participate in activities such as: developing assignments, preparing and delivering material (e.g., a lecture, in-class activity, discussion), organizing and delivering tutorials or problem sessions, laboratory instruction, evaluating student responses, and grading. Performance will be monitored throughout the term by the supervising faculty member and/or laboratory instructor, and feedback will be provided on teaching effectiveness. This course can be taken up to three times, and is offered on a credit/no credit basis.Prerequisites

Normally, students will elect this course in a term subsequent to passing the qualifying examination. To request enrollment in ENGG 295.1, complete the following steps: 1) Obtain approval from your faculty advisor, 2) Obtain approval from the course instructor, 3) Complete the ENGG 295.1 PhD TA Form, 4) Attend or view the Thayer TA orientation prior to the term during which you enroll. Students may take ENGG 295.1 up to three times or ENGG 295 once, but not both. Students who completed ENGG 295 prior to spring 2025 may be eligible for two additional terms of ENGG 295.1.Offered
