Description
ENGG 197.1 is designed to meet PhD students "where they are" and to provide a customized professional development experience. Students will choose their own journey and access the workshops and best practices sessions they feel they need the most to gain the skills and practice critical to success in their PhD and in preparing for their career. To earn credit for ENGG 197.1 students must complete 20 assignments. Students do not have to choose all 20 assignments at once or complete them in a single term, but instead access the content that they need in the moment, or anticipate needing as they move through their PhD. Assignments are publicized via a Canvas page accessible to all Thayer PhD students. To complete an assignment for credit, students must complete the pre-work (e.g. worksheets, reading requirements, videos, etc.), participate in the assignment discussion, and then submit homework. Once a student has completed 20 assignments, they will receive a “credit” grade for ENGG 197.1.
