Overview

Becca Thomson's work focuses on biomaterials, medical device design, tissue engineering, and surgical innovation, with an emphasis on translating emerging technologies into solutions that improve patient care. She received her PhD through Dartmouth's Surgical Innovation Program, where she conducted research in Professor Douglas Van Citters' laboratory focused on biomaterials characterization and regenerative approaches to women's health.

At Thayer, Thomson teaches ENGS 21: Introduction to Engineering and mentors students in engineering design and innovation. She is also the founder and CEO of Tensara Medical, a Dartmouth spinoff developing next-generation resorbable biomaterial technologies for soft tissue repair and women's health applications.
