I’m an Engineer and an Olympian
Mar 15, 2021 | by Kathryn Lapierre | Dartmouth Engineer
Isalys Quiñones ’19 Th’20 discusses balancing engineering at Dartmouth and being a member of the Puerto Rico women's national basketball team, which made history for the 2020 Summer Games by qualifying for the Olympics for the first time.
“Making the team is still pretty surreal to me, and this is the first time that a Puerto Rican women’s basketball team has made it to the Olympics. We made history. It’s kind of hard to believe.
What I relate to most with engineering and basketball is the team aspect. It’s been a wild ride. The Olympic process is a long one and definitely the hardest thing I’ve done in my life.”
