Engineering Major Receives Dartmouth Scholar-Athlete Award

Dartmouth engineering major and football player Jack Traynor ‘19 received a Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete Award, given “to one male and one female of the junior class, who have combined outstanding performance in athletics and significant achievement in academics."

THE CLASS OF 1948 SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARDS

Winners: Remy Borinsky (Women’s Soccer) and Jack Traynor (Football)

...An engineering major with a 3.7 GPA, Traynor helped the football team to an 8-2 record overall and second-place finish in the Ivy League. He was second in the conference with 98 tackles, five of which went for a loss, which earned the junior a unanimous selection to the All-Ivy League First Team at linebacker. Traynor earned other accolades as well, including the Division I All-New England Team, FCS Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team, Fall Academic All-Ivy League and the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society. Following spring practice, he was also voted as one of the team’s captains for the 2018 season.
