Dartmouth Engineering Welcomes Three New Board Members

Thayer School of Engineering's Board of Advisors welcomed three new members—Chandra Gnanasambandam P'27 P'29, Jennifer A. Jarrett '92, and Duncan MacLean '94 Th'95 Th'96—in July. Together, they bring decades of experience in management and global business leadership, along with expertise across biotechnology, identity security, and advanced manufacturing industries, to the Board.

Chandra Gnanasambandam, Jennifer A. Jarrett, and Duncan MacLean are new members of the Thayer Board of Advisors.
Chandra Gnanasambandam is executive vice president of product and chief technology officer at SailPoint, where he leads the company's product vision, strategy, and development across its identity security platform. Based in Silicon Valley, he brings deep experience in software product management and engineering. Previously, he co-led McKinsey's global high-tech practice, co-founded its investor and startup initiative Fuel, and was a founding partner of the firm's Bangalore office. He holds graduate degrees in engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and Georgia Tech.
Jennifer A. Jarrett is chief operating officer of Arcus Biosciences, a biotechnology company focused on developing oncology therapeutics. She previously served as vice president of corporate development and capital markets at Uber Technologies and as chief financial officer at Medivation, a commercial-stage oncology company acquired by Pfizer. She spent two decades in investment banking, including leading Citigroup's West Coast life sciences investment banking practice, and held roles at Credit Suisse and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Jarrett serves on the boards of Sagimet Biosciences, Syndax Pharmaceuticals, and Zura Bio. She earned a BA in economics from Dartmouth and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Duncan MacLean is CEO of MacLean-Fogg, a global manufacturing company serving the automotive and power industries. He joined the company in 1996 as a manufacturing engineer and became its fourth CEO in 2017. Since joining MacLean-Fogg, he has worked in seven different business units, including spending more than four years living and working in Germany, and has served on the MacLean-Fogg Board of Directors since 1998. He earned his AB, BE, and MEM from Dartmouth, and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management. He currently serves on the board of NESL, a family business based in Bedford, PA, and serves on several philanthropic boards, including The Loomis Chaffee School as chair and the Museum of Science and Industry as chair of buildings and grounds. He previously served on the YPO Chicago Chapter Board and Thayer's MEM Corporate Collaboration Council.
The Thayer Board was established in 1867 by Sylvanus Thayer to serve in an advisory role to the dean, providing guidance on critical issues and help shape the vision for the school. The 24-member board is comprised of alumni and external industry leaders provide professional expertise, strategic counsel, and philanthropic support to help advance Thayer's mission and impact.
