Dartmouth offers an extended holiday break between the fall and winter terms. During this Winter Break, many employees will be out. All full- and part-time regular staff and union employees are eligible for break days unless asked to cover essential services. Those who need to work on those dates to meet operational needs may speak with their manager to schedule alternate time off.

The temperature in buildings during break days is reduced to conserve energy. Temperatures will not be reduced in areas where essential services are being provided, open to the public, laboratories, museums, and other similar spaces.
