Three classes via Zoom.

Hosted by GrantGPS and the Irving Institute, and open to Dartmouth junior faculty, post-docs, and graduate students, this free series will focus on the basic principles of good scientific style and composition. The course stresses writing with the reader in mind, and pays particular attention to impact, logic, and sharp technical style.

Recommended as a pre-requisite for our spring 2023 grant writing workshop.

Course Content:

  • Essential scientific writing principles with hands-on exercises (word choice and location; sentences structure and placement; paragraph organization and location; impact of writing)
  • Creating clear figures and tables
  • References and plagiarism
