ENGS 33 Bridge Testing

Aug

22

Friday
8:30am - 10:00am ET

Couch Project Lab, MacLean ESC

Students in ENGS 33: Solid Mechanics design and build a scale model of a bridge capable of carrying pedestrians and small vehicles and that is stiff, strong, and economical.

Each team uses SolidWorks to analyze and predict the maximum load their bridge can support, as well as how far the bridge roadway will bend at a load of 1 kN.

Come cheer them on as Thayer's Instron machine puts their predictions to the test!
