Thayer Human Resources

Human Resources serves Thayer's faculty, staff and student employees in a variety of ways—from recruitment and professional development to labor relations. We support employees and managers in addressing complex workplace problems—whether matters of structure and organization or interpersonal.


  • Managing the recruitment process for all benefitted hires
  • Onboarding of all Thayer employees as well as visiting scholars, temporary hires and supplemental employees
  • Managing employee records to ensure accurate payroll and recording of employee data
  • Ensuring valid visa and work authorization for our foreign national population
  • Advising managers and their employees on issues surrounding work performance and conflict management
  • Supporting employees in areas relevant to the Family Medical Leave Act, position reclassification, exit interviews and performance appraisals
