Target Your Gift
From supporting undergraduate financial aid to PhD-level entrepreneurship, there's a way to make an impact. Direct your gift in a way that's meaningful to you.

BE Financial Aid
Bachelor of Engineering (BE) scholarships support students working to earn their BE degree after completing the Bachelor of Arts (AB) course of study. Financial aid is awarded to students, including Dual-Degree Program students, with demonstrated financial need and who are in their fifth year of undergraduate studies.
"The PhD-I community makes Thayer so unique, so special, and it is the relationships I've built here that will enable me to hopefully make an outsized impact on the world."
—Chase A. Yakaboski, PhD Gr'24 Th'24
PhD Innovation Fellowships
In 2008, Thayer established the first PhD Innovation Program in the nation. This program is a magnet for students who want the depth of a PhD degree from an engineering school recognized for world-class, high-impact research, but whose career aspirations lie in industry or entrepreneurship rather than academia. Fellowships to support students in their research with the goal of translating it to commercial applications will further enhance Dartmouth Engineering's reputation as a destination for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Design Initiative at Dartmouth (DIAD)
DIAD facilitates collaborative creativity at Dartmouth, using design thinking to bring together technology and the liberal arts, and empowering our community to uncover and address the most challenging problems. DIAD is the hub of human-centered innovation at Dartmouth, catalyzing transformative integrative education and interdisciplinary research that empowers students and scholars to create solutions for a more just, ethical, and sustainable world. Our vision is to establish an endowed design program that enables Dartmouth to become recognized as a leader.
"My undergraduate research pushed me beyond my comfort zone and challenged me in ways I had not imagined. I encourage all Thayer students to pursue this opportunity, as it offers a chance to learn, explore, and fully engage in the process of discovery."
—Hannah Ren '24
Undergraduate Research Opportunities
Dartmouth Engineering provides opportunities for undergraduates to engage in faculty-mentored research, scholarship, and creative projects outside the classroom. Approximately 60% of Thayer undergraduates, both Bachelor of Arts (AB) and Bachelor of Engineering (BE) students, report being involved in some type of research within the framework of a course or outside the classroom. Most research projects are collaborations that integrate one or more engineering disciplines with other sciences. Our long-term goal is to engage all undergraduate students in research activities, including those enrolled in the BE program.

Dartmouth Emerging Engineers (DEE)
Established in 2016, the Dartmouth Emerging Engineers (DEE) program aims to improve the first-year experience of students entering Dartmouth with an interest in engineering. The program provides support and mentoring to ensure these students gain a solid academic foundation before beginning engineering courses. DEE has enhanced student success and is an important stepping stone toward retaining students who want to in study engineering. Our vision is to provide a comprehensive program to fully engage students in a supportive community from the start of their undergraduate studies through to graduation.
"I give to the Thayer Annual Fund to ensure students have access to transformative experiences —from funding innovative student projects to professional development opportunities."
—Benton C. Routh '86 Th'86 Th'87
Thayer Annual Fund
