The Dartmouth Engineering 2021 Investiture ceremony on June 12 honored 174 recipients of BE and graduate degrees. The following morning, Dartmouth awarded 107 AB degrees in engineering sciences. At Thayer School’s ceremony, Ernest J. Moniz, the former U.S. secretary of energy, was awarded The Robert Fletcher Award and gave the keynote address.
“The responsibility for our collective good, for our sense of community, falls on you and every other generation of graduates of this distinguished institution,” said Moniz. “You have extraordinary capabilities for raising the level of discourse, and we need it…. Engineers solve problems. Engineers will address the full range of innovation challenges. Quite simply, we need you to face these challenges and capture these opportunities.”
