Dartmouth Engineering Professor Elected SPIE Fellow
Jan 07, 2013
Dartmouth engineering professor Keith Paulsen is one of 68 "members of distinction" elected as new fellows of SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. Specifically, Professor Paulsen was elected for "achievements in multi-modality medical imaging technologies in cancer."
SPIE was founded in 1955 to advance light-based technologies and has named more than 900 members as Fellows since its founding. Serving more than 225,600 constituents from approximately 150 countries, the Society advances emerging technologies through interdisciplinary information exchange, continuing education, publications, patent precedent, and career and professional growth.
At Dartmouth, Paulsen serves as the Robert A. Pritzker Professor of Biomedical Engineering as well as Professor of Radiology at The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, Director of the Dartmouth Advanced Imaging Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and Co-Director of the Cancer Imaging and Radiobiology Research Program at Norris Cotton Cancer Center.
In this video, Paulsen discusses his research in breast cancer imaging techniques beyond mammography:
