Tuition
Review the tuition and cost of attendance for college-related expenses. Tuition is the same whether the student is enrolled in two, three, or four courses. Personal expenses will vary based on individual lifestyle. All tuition and college-related expenses are estimates and subject to change.
Degree Duration
The MEM degree is typically completed in four academic terms plus one summer internship. The usual enrollment pattern is Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer (Internship/ENGG 390) and Fall. A student who enters in the Fall term usually completes the program 15 months later near the end of the following November.
Summer Internship Budget
Most students work on their MEM Project (ENGG 390) during the summer term. Students must enroll for ENGG 390 during the same term as their internship. If a student is not enrolled in any other courses while completing ENGG 390, a partial tuition charge, set at 15% of full term tuition ($3,306 for Summer 2024), is assessed. A student may not enroll in more than one other course while taking ENGG 390. Students should also budget off-campus living expenses for the summer.
Financial Aid
Need-based financial aid is available to all eligible full-time domestic and international students. Contingent upon satisfactory performance and academic progress, all MEM students are eligible for need-based financial aid. To be considered for financial aid, prospective students must request financial aid while submitting their application.

Partial Tuition Scholarships
Full-time MEM students (domestic and international) are eligible for partial tuition scholarships. Assessment of need is based on the CSS Profile application. Awards are made annually on an academic year basis.
The MEM program is a professional program where students take classes, but are not required to conduct research (unlike MS and PhD programs). Most professional programs (including the MBA, MD, and JD degrees) offer little or no financial aid. Our MEM program is pleased to offer partial tuition scholarships to students with need.
The George CA "Gus" Conrades '90 Distinguished Fellowship
The Conrades Fellowship is for students with demonstrated entrepreneurship and leadership potential as judged by a faculty-led review panel. Each fellowship includes a tuition grant and discretionary funds to support an entrepreneurial project, done collectively with a mentor, which culminates in a business plan presentation. Fellows may also have an opportunity to receive a stipend for work on an original business/start-up plan in place of a summer internship. Students apply during the Winter term of their first year in residence.
Hourly Teaching Assistantships and Other Employment
Teaching assistantships may be available to well-qualified students. A teaching assistant is paid hourly to assist with grading, problem sessions, and/or lab work. Assignments are made on a term-by-term basis. Other limited hourly employment is available to qualified students.
Work is generally limited to 12 hours per week during academic terms and 40 hours per week between terms and during off-terms. The hourly rate of pay is $21. Hourly employment may not exceed a total of 40 hours per week from any and all College sources.
MEM Professional Development Funds
Enrolled MEM students wanting to attend a professional conference or participate in a professional development workshop related to their career goals may request a one-time amount of up to a maximum of $500. This fund can be used for transportation, conference registration fees, and hotel expenses (excluding meals). Reduced fares are often available to individuals who register and buy their tickets early.
