David L. Swift is the Executive Business Partner for Advent International, a Boston-based global private equity firm.

Prior to joining Advent, David was the President and CEO of North America’s largest residential HVAC company, Goodman Global Group, Inc., and a member of its Board of Directors. In 2012, Goodman was acquired by Daikin Industries, Limited, of Osaka, Japan, the world’s largest HVAC company. David continued to serve as President and CEO of Goodman, reporting to Daikin’s Chairman and CEO, until May, 2014. In June, 2014, he was appointed to Daikin’s Board of Directors, the first person from the Western Hemisphere to be appointed to Daikin’s Board in its 90-year history.

Prior to joining Goodman, David served as the President of North America for Whirlpool Corporation and as a member of Whirlpool Corporation’s Board of Directors.

Before joining Whirlpool in 2001, David served as the President of Eastman Kodak Company’s Professional Group. Prior to that assignment, he served as the Chairman and President of Kodak’s Greater Asian Region based in Shanghai, China, for more than four years.

In April, 2013, David became the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Serta Simmons Bedding, a leading bedding and mattress company owned by Advent. In November of 2014, David became Chairman of the Board of Directors for Connolly iHealth Technologies, an Advent-owned leading technology-enabled provider of both pre- and post-payment recovery audit services.

Dave earned a BA in mathematics and physics, with honors, from Amherst College, a Masters of Engineering from Thayer School (1984), and an MBA with honors, from Harvard Business School. Dave’s wife, Martha Hodgkinson Swift, received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth in 1980.
