Teens attend engineering camp at Dartmouth

High school students from across the country are spending two weeks at Dartmouth College for a summer engineering camp.

The “Design It! Build It!” workshop is being held July 7-18 at Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering. Students will learn to use the machine shop and 3D printers to make spinning tops, gliders, robots and hydraulic machines.

The group includes several students from nearby New Hampshire communities, as well as local teachers who will attend some sessions.

Engineering professor Vicki May, who runs the workshop, says local teachers have been telling her for years that they wish students had more opportunities to better their understanding of engineering.
