Skype Career Fair Allows Students and Recruiters to 'Meet' Face-to-Face
Jul 28, 2011 | National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)
In recent years, the career services office for the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College has found it challenging to get employers to campus for its traditional winter engineering career fair, so it began exploring options for a virtual fair.
“Employers and students find it mutually beneficial to meet in person at traditional career fairs and we wanted to offer this at our virtual fair,” explains Jennifer St. Laurence, assistant director of Thayer career services.
After reviewing the virtual career fair capabilities of its recruiting software provider and other costly online virtual career fair platforms, the career services office chose Skype.
