Dartmouth Engineering Dean Alexis Abramson is interviewed in a story about a Dartmouth visit last week by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., to review research funded by the National Science Foundation.

WCAX-3 News covered Senator Jeanne Shaheen's visit to Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering to learn more about the research made possible through the National Science Foundation (NSF), including underwater robotic construction, ice coring science, and studies involving the intersection between memory and perception. Dartmouth has received millions in NSF funding that is used primarily to pay student researchers.

“We fund students, we pay them a stipend. If they are Ph.D. students we might even cover tuition with that funding from the federal government. So they are able to be trained at this higher level as graduate students to do work on research areas that are of critical importance to the country,” Alexis Abramson, Dean of the Thayer School of Engineering, told WCAX.
