Engineering students from around world build cars to compete at NHMS
May 16, 2019 | WMUR
"A race taking place this week at New Hampshire Motor Speedway could provide a glimpse into the future," reports WMUR.
"Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth is running the annual Formula Hybrid Competition. The competition, now in its 13th installment, began as a way to get engineering students of various disciplines to talk to each other ...
"...working on the car develops different skills outside of their engineering discipline, such as team management. Doug Fraser, who founded the competition, said that was one of their goals when it began.
"'To get the mechanical engineering students and the electrical engineering students to learn to talk each other's languages, and to be able to negotiate on the design and construction of a vehicle,' he said."
