Dartmouth wins April Fools Day with tackling dummy video
Apr 04, 2016 | by Sam Cooper | Yahoo Sports
Dartmouth football made a splash last year when it introduced a mobile tackling dummy (known as the MVP) for practices.
Now it is taking a step further.
The school announced Friday (for April Fools Day, of course) that it will field an entire team of MVPs with its players controlling the dummies via remote control. The video it released with the announcement is excellent.
Big Green head coach Buddy Teevens has become a spokesman of sorts for the MVP and the Ivy League’s decision to eliminate tackling in practices in order to reduce injuries, especially concussions. But the MVP showed that it is more than just a tackling prop.
