Dartmouth Engineers' Project Explores Methods For Measuring Snowpack
Apr 04, 2017 | Vermont Public Radio
As a guest on "Vermont Edition," Christopher Polashenski '07 Th'11, adjunct engineering professor and geophysicist at the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, discusses NASA's research project SnowEx, which is trying to determine how satellites can best measure the depth of snow and water content in difficult-to-find locations around the globe. Polashenski explains the project and why he and other researchers are digging around a seven-foot deep snowpack atop a mesa in Colorado.
