Dartmouth Students Named Finalists in NASA Competition
Jan 07, 2021 | NBC5
"A group of graduate and undergraduate Dartmouth students are finalists in NASA's BIG Idea Challenge," reports NBC5.
"The team is comprised of eight students. They developed a lunar rover called 'SHREWs' — short for 'Strategic Highly Compliant Roving Explorers of Other Worlds.'"
..."The engineering students said it has the mobility to handle the tough terrain of the moon's south pole.
"'The full vehicle can start, it starts off at roughly half a meter long and it can actuate its frame so it ends up being almost a meter long,' [Dartmouth engineering PhD candidate and team lead Adam] Gronewold said."
