Solaflect Energy is a solar technology business started and boot-strapped by serial entrepreneur Bill Bender '78. Bill has been heavily involved with Thayer including sponsoring multiple 89/90 projects, and hiring interns and new grads. Come hear about some of the trials, tribulations and successes of a technology start-up, and some of the future directions of Solaflect in the solar field. Check out Solaflect.

About Mike Adams: 

Mike received his A.B. in Engineering Sciences and French from Dartmouth College and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a retired senior-level executive for the engineering and contracting company Bechtel Group, Inc. Prior to his retirement in 2016, Mike was on the board of directors and was elected to the board in 2008. He also served as chief financial officer of Bechtel Group, Inc. from 2012 through 2014. From 2003 to 2012, Mike was president of Bechtel’s global civil business, responsible for rail, infrastructure, and aviation projects. Mike held the role of senior vice president two years prior. In 2000, he became manager of the rail business for Bechtel’s Europe, Africa, Middle East, Southwest Asia region and helped significantly expand the company’s rail business in the United Kingdom. He served in Asia, where he was Bechtel’s senior regional representative for Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Brunei as well as head of Asia Pacific for Bechtel Enterprises from 1993 to 1999. Mike joined Bechtel in 1989 as principal project liaison for the financial restructuring efforts on the landmark Channel Tunnel project in London.
