Tenure-track Engineering Faculty Position: Assistant Professor

As part of a significant expansion of its faculty and programs, the Thayer School of Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position with a preference for candidates at the Assistant Professor level. 

The successful candidate will develop an internationally recognized research program supported with external funding, and will teach undergraduate and graduate courses supporting the schools curriculum in relevant areas of engineering. Candidates across all Engineering disciplines will be considered, however a preference will be given to candidates working on problems related to Energy or Healthcare/Medicine. A PhD or ABD in engineering or related sciences is required. 

The Thayer School values inter-disciplinary excellence, and prides itself on training broadly versed yet deeply knowledgeable engineers prepared to address tomorrow’s challenges. Using an integrated, non-departmental structure, we offer an ABET-accredited B.E. degree, as well as A.B., M.E.M., M.Eng., M.S., Ph.D., and dual track M.D./Ph.D. degrees. A recognized leader in academic entrepreneurship, the Thayer School received the National Academy of Engineering’s 2014 Gordon Prize for its focus on Entrepreneurship including the first-in the country Innovation PhD program.  The percentage of faculty involved in the founding of venture backed start-ups is amongst the highest in the United States. Dartmouth College seeks to support impact creation beyond traditional academic metrics, and has developed distinctively entrepreneurial intellectual property policies to encourage translational science and startup formation.
