COVID-19 Information

Good wishes and end-of-term reminders

From: Dean Alexis Abramson

Dear Thayer community,

As we approach the end of winter term, I wanted to provide a few reminders for our students who are preparing for exams and the final projects over the next week.

Cummings and MacLean’s buildings continue to be open for exam preparation and end-of-term projects, from 7 am to 9 pm daily. Research labs continue to be open until midnight. Recall that available spaces have limited occupancy due to physical distancing guidelines, and many rooms require a reservation. The Great Hall in Cummings and the Rodday Overlook in MacLean can be used in their current configuration without a reservation as long as you observe capacity limits and sit in marked locations.

While we understand that some end-of-term work will require students to work together, it is critically important that you adhere to the maximum room capacity requirements and maintain 6-ft distancing, and wear face coverings in accordance with Dartmouth COVID-19 policies. We continue to encourage students to work remotely when possible to keep the density low for everyone’s safety. Please refer to the Thayer COVID-19 Facilities Use document that contains up-to-date information about the safety protocols and guidelines for building access. Our building hours and policies will remain in effect throughout the upcoming break.

Thank you all for your continued efforts to follow COVID protocols and to prioritize the health and safety of each other and of our community. I wish you all a successful end of winter term, and I hope you seize opportunities to relax, unwind, and refresh as we head into spring term.
