Autumn in Amherst (longways, duple improper) (Philippe Callens)

A   All step R and honor partner, then turn single to the L; Partners LH turn; Neighbors RH turn; Taking hands in a ring of 4, circle L half, then neighbors fall bk.

B   Ladies cross R, then men L; Partners half draw poussette CCW (M going fwd W backing up) to a line of four across the set (1s finish on the ladies' side facing up, 2s finish on the men's side facing down; All fwd a double & back (Ones lead up while Twos lead down); All cast R, move to prog. places on opposite side of the set), then partners cross R & turn R to face.

 

Dublin Bay (longways, duple minor)

A. Couple1 cross, setting as they go, to corners. Turn corner by R hand once; Couple1 cross passing L sh., go below Cpl2, end in middle facing out, facing same sex. Arm R 1x, all finish facing down, Couple1 in center

B. In line, all fall back a double (up the hall), go forward a double, turn to face up; fall back a double (down the hall), come forward; Couple1 makes assisted cast to progressed pl.

 

Easter Morn (longways, duple minor)

(Erna-Lynne Bogue)

A. Cpl.1 cast down (2s move up); half fig-8 thru 2s

A. With next couple along the line, R.H. across; with original couple, L.H. across

B. Original foursome, circle right; Cpl.2 gate the ones up thru center and back to prog. place

B. Cpl.1 lead down thru new Cpl. 2 below, cast up; all turn partner two hands to end proper (ones turn 1-1/2 while twos turn once around)

Elizabeth (Colin Hume) (longways, duple minor)

Foxfire (Steve Sargent) (longways, duple minor)

Al Circle L half, then cast back 1 place; Women change passing L, men change passing L

A2 Circle R half, then cast bk 1 place

      Women change passing R, M change places passing R; all home

Bl Double Mad Robin clockwise (WI down & W2 up center; Ml down & M2 up outside)

      Partners set & turn single

B2 Neighbors gypsy

      Neighbors pass R & new neighbors bk to bk

 

From Aberdeen  (longways, triple minor)

A. 1s cast one place (2s lead up); 1s 2-hand turn ¾, & fall bk (M1 between 3s, W1 between 2s)

B. 1M & 3s circle L once while 1W the same with 2s (2 bars); actives 2-hand turn 2nd  corner half, while passing him/her from L to R, end nearly in progressed place (2 bars); M circle L 1x while W do same (2 bars); open to lines (2 bars); 1s turn ¼ & fall bk, M1 between 2s, W1 between 3s (2 bars).

B. As above, but with 1M and 1W in reversed roles and ending with a two hand turn halfway into progressed place.

 

Hambleton's Round O (longways, triple minor)   

A. Cpl1 cast to 2nd place (2s move up), M1 hey with Cpl3 (pass W3 by L) while W1 hey w/ Cpl2 (pass M2 by L). Cpl1 2-hand turn in middle

B. W1 & M2 (in 1st corner positions) change places, M1 & W2 same, circle L half & all t.s. R; face ptnr to start circular hey (4 changes)

 

The Homecoming (Gary Roodman) (longways, duple minor, improper)

A1 Cpl1 round Cpl2 (CW, M round 2, W cut thru)

A2 Cpl2 same around Cpl1 (CW) & a little more, finish in line of 4 facing up (W2-M1-M2-W1)

B1 Line of four lead up 3 steps, turn alone and fall bk 3 more steps (still moving up)

      Line of 4 lead down six steps

B2 Half hey-for-four, start passing r. sh. w/ nbr until neighbors meet on home side; 2-hand turn, end facing out of set w/ M on R, W on L

C1 W/ neighbor, lead away, turn alone, lead back; W change places, M change places

C2 Take hands four and circle left halfway

      All two-hand turn with partner

 

Mr. Isaac's Maggot (longways, duple minor)

A. M1 turn W2 by R hand 3/4; return to his place moving below & around M2; similarly, W1 turn M2 by LH 3/4

B. Inside hands w/ neigh., all fall back 6 steps, come fwd. 3 steps, turn single R, face partner & circular hey (3 changes), end in line of 4 facing up (1s betw. 2s); take hands, up double & back, 1st couple assisted cast to 2nd place

The Pursuit (longways, duple minor)

A1 First man hey with both women, finishes by casting into second place (Second man move up)

A2 First W does same with men (Second W move up)

B1 First couple lead thru NEXT couple below and cast up, while 2nd cpl cast up the outside and lead down to progressed place; All turn Ptnr

B2 Ones figure-8 up through original Twos

 

The Queen's Jig (longways, duple minor)

A. 1st corners side, then set and turn single

A. 2nd corners repeat A1

B. 1st corners change, 2nd corners change; partners face, balance back, &change places

B. All right hands across; all turn single

 

Red House (longways, duple minor)

A. Cpl.1 meet, fall back a dbl, set to each other and cast to middle (Cpl.2 moving up)

A. Cpl. 2 repeat

B. M1, followed by partner, cast off below M2, goes up between Cpl.2 and CW around W2 to 2nd place (Cpl.2 moves up)

B. W2, followed by partner, cast off below W1, goes up between Cpl.1 and CCW around M1 to orig, place (Cpl.1 leads up)

C. M2 heys w/ Cpl.1, passing W1 by R sh.

C. W2 heys with Cpl.1, passing M1 by L sh.

      Cpl. 1 cast to middle, 2s leading up

 


Sally in our Alley (longways, duple minor)

A1  1st corners cast L (M1 down, W2 up) around neighbors, pass L sh in center and loop R around partner to each other's place

A2  2nd corners cast R (M2 up, W1 down) around Neighbors, pass R sh in center and loop L around same-sex Nbr to each other's place

B1 All fall back, return & cross with partner, looping R into… Four changes of circular hey

B2 1st corners (in 2nd corner places) change by L shoulder; 2nd corners (in 1st corner places) change by R sh; quick circle left once (all home, impr.); Cpl.1 long cast off (6) and 2-hand turn while Cpl.2 move up & two-hand turn 1½

 

n Scotch Cap (three couple, longways)

IA All lead up a double and back; that again.

B1 1st & 2nd women and 2nd & 3rd men fall back two steps, cross over and change places, 1st  W with 2nd M and 2nd W with 3rd M.

      1st M and 3rd W cross over and change places.

B2 All that again, to places.

IIA      Partners side, twice

B1 Take hands w/ Nbrs, fall back a dbl and move fwd a double to places

      Arm right:    1st & 3rd men, 1st & 3rd women, 2nd man & 2nd woman.

B2 As in B1; two-hand turn partner

IIIA  Partners arm right and left

B1 Men go four slips up, while the women go four slips down, so that 3rd M faces 1st W.

      Progressive hey, halfway, with hands, 3 changes, starting RH with 3rd M & 1st W­.

B2 Same movement as in B1, except that the men slip down and the women slip up, and 1st man and 3rd W begin the hey, giving LH.

Note on progressive hey: As soon as partners give hands to each other, they turn into place so that everyone ends up back in their original place in the dance.

 


Take a Dance (longways, duple minor)

A. Ones lead down between twos and cast up to place; two-hand turn once around

A. Twos do same except leading up between ones

B. Ones cross & go down one place, twos moving up; ones half figure 8 up through the twos

B. 4 changes of rights and lefts (hands), starting with right hand to partner

 

Turning by Threes (Gary Roodman) 3-cpl cir.

A   Circle left (2 bars), turn single L; repeat all to R; w/ partner, long back-to-back; Two quick changes of R&L, w/ hands, then RH turn with the next person once around into…

B   Men L-hands across 1x (back to these new places), Women R-hands across 1x; Men dance to the ctr. with 2 single steps; as M fall back, W dance to ctr. with 2 single steps; W look over R sh and gypsy with this new ptnr, about 1¼ around, back into circle

 

n Waters of Holland (Pat Shaw) (Three cpl set, middles improper, mixer, B = chorus)

Part I

A Partners up a double and back

    Partners down a double and back.

B1 All face diagonally R: set back, forwards.  Top two in M's line change with bottom two in W's line (1st M with 2nd M and 2nd W with 3rd M)

      With the person coming towards you, two-hand turn once and a half around

B  Repeat – this is your new partner.

Part II

A   Partners side-by-side R shoulder and back;

      Partners L shoulder and back.

BB       As above to switch partners.

Part III

A   Partners arm R, partners arm L.

BB       As above to switch to original partner.
