Students test their gliders in the Atrium during Thayer's first Summer Engineering Workshop.

Students entering grades 11 or 12 in the Fall of 2016 who are interested in exploring engineering, working collaboratively, and being creative are invited to apply.

We are looking for a diverse group of students who are interested in gaining a better understanding of engineering in general, and engineering at Thayer, in particular.

Preference will be given to students who have not attended a previous workshop (formerly known as Design it! Build it!) since the goal is to introduce students to engineering.

Applications are being accepted now and space is limited so submit your applications early. Space in the workshop will be filled with eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis. There are 30 spaces available in the workshop for residential students and 10 spaces available for day students. Once these spaces are filled, students will be placed on a waitlist.

Fees for the workshop will be due in April of 2016.

Partial need-based scholarships are available; please download the Scholarship Application (PDF) for more information.
