Thayer School Safety Training

Safety awareness seminars at Thayer include the following:
Safety Training Records Database. The official roster of those completing such training and authorized to use laboratory or shop facilities is available in electronic form.

NOTE: completion of "Shop Safety" does NOT exempt you from the Thayer General Lab Safety seminar (Grad/Fac or UG Safety in database); they are different.

You can check your name against this database as follows:

  1. You need to have a secure (hardwire or wireless "Dartmouth Secure" or VPN) .dartmouth.edu connection
  2. Click here: Safety Training Database for web interface.
  3. If requested, select Guest Account and press "Login".
  4. Click on magnifying glass (find) (near the right end of the ribbon at the top of the screen).
  5. Enter your last name in first (upper left) box labeled "Name".
  6. Press the "Perform Find" button (where the find button was).
  7. A status of "OK" usually means requirements satisfied, "required" means you need to take the Thayer Safety Seminar (Grad/Fac or UG).
  8. If your name is not found, make sure you are searching all records; use the magnifying glass at the top of the left panel, not the smaller one which sometimes shows up in the middle of the panel. If you still can not find your name, contact Prof. Levey's assistant, Kathy DiAntonio (Kathy.K.DiAntonio@dartmouth.edu)
A date in the UG safety or Fac/Grad safety field means you have completed the Thayer safety seminar (a date in the Shop Safety column does NOT satisfy this)
