Cathy Zoi, CEO, The Alliance for Climate Protection

Cathy Zoi A graduate of Thayer School's M.S. program, Cathy Zoi has spent more than two decades in the energy and environmental sector in both the United States and Australia. In February 2007, she joined The Alliance for Climate Protection as its founding CEO in Palo Alto, California. The Alliance, established and chaired by Former Vice President Al Gore, is spearheading a massive campaign to persuade Americans and people elsewhere in the world of both the urgency and solvability of the climate crisis.

Previously, she has lead private sector and government organizations in the development of technologies and programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including pioneering 'Energy Star' and the world's first national 'Green Power' program. In March 2006 Cathy was profiled in Rolling Stone Magazine as a global warming "Warrior and Hero." She was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2003 by the Australian Government for her contributions to sustainability.

movie posterMs. Zoi earned a B.S. in Geology from Duke University and an M.S. in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth. She will deliver the October 19th Jones Seminar entitled "What Will it Take?—Reaching People on the Urgency and Solvability of the Climate Crisis"
