Information for 2010 Graduates

Investiture Ceremony

Please note: The process for purchasing academic regalia has changed. In addition to purchasing your cap and gown, you will also purchase your hood versus renting it and the cost will be the same.

Investiture Ceremony Caps, Gowns and Hoods for B.E., M.E.M., and M.S. candidates will be on sale in the Office of Student and Academic Affairs, 103 MacLean from Monday, June 7 to Friday, June 11. The regalia for B.E. and Masters students are different, so please be sure to indicate which degree you are receiving. The cost for B.E. regalia is $27.10, for Masters, $31.80. If you have a black cap and gown from your undergraduate graduation, it is possible to purchase just the hood—B.E. hoods are $12.20 and Masters are $14.90. It is important that all Thayer School students have their regalia by 4:30pm on Friday, June 11, as our Investiture Ceremony is on Saturday morning at 10:00am. Out of town students who do not have regalia should make arrangements for the purchase before Investiture. The information for Doctoral Candidates has been or will be distributed shortly.

On Saturday, June 12 students must assemble promptly at 9:30am in the Faulkner Auditorium in the Hopkins Center. Caps and gowns should be worn with appropriate attire at the Investiture ceremony.

Commencement Exercises

Dartmouth Commencement exercises will be held on Sunday, June 13. Thayer School students should assemble in front of Wentworth Hall promptly at 9:00am. In the event of rain, Thayer students will gather inside of Dartmouth Hall. Caps, gowns, and hoods should be worn with the proper attire. The Academic Procession is at 9:30am; Commencement begins at 10:00am. For A.B./B.E. students, you will process in with the senior class; hence you will assemble in Leede Arena.
