John Lamppa | John.W.Lamppa@Dartmouth.edu | Telephone: (603) 646-9245 John Lamppa is a Ph.D. candidate at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. Starting in the Fall of 2007, John has been working in the field of protein engineering with an emphasis towards therapeutic enzyme design. Specifically, his research has been directed towards novel enzyme therapies for cystic fibrosis and biofilm degradation. John received a B.A. and distinction in Chemistry from St. Olaf College in 2007. While attending school at St. Olaf, John completed two years of HHMI and NSF funded research under advisors Dr. Jeff Schwinefus and Dr. Paul Jackson. Research for these projects included aspects of bio-physical and analytical chemistry to analyze RNA pseudoknot thermodynamics and also develop detection methods for water quality control in local watersheds. Portions of this work have been published in the journal Biochemistry: (Biochemistry 2007 46 (31), 9068-9079) |
