More than an academic experience, the M.E.M. program brings students into a life-long network of friends and colleagues.
Joining one of 15 or so professional, social, or service student organizations is a golden opportunity to come together with M.E.M. classmates and other engineering students with common interests. The M.E.M. Council offers students a chance to organize career panels or mentor prospective M.E.M. students.
"The MEMC serves as a platform that fosters interaction between students, faculty, and industry; facilitates transition of new and prospective students; and provides its students a friendly, educational and memorable experience both inside and outside the classroom. It also serves as a forum to discuss topics such as curriculum, career counseling, and social activities.
"As a member of the MEMC, I have attended various social events such as 'Wine and Cheese night' and 'Ben and Jerry's ice-cream factory trip' that have been instrumental in facilitating interaction with my peers and faculty. The MEMC has also organized education trips to complement classroom learning such as the 'Timken Aerospace factory tour' during our 'Operations Management' course. In addition, the MEMC, in conjunction with Career Services, has proved to be a useful resource for me to get in touch with key industry contacts and alumni."
