"After graduation," said a recent M.E.M. graduate, "the possibilities are limitless!"
The opportunities are indeed limitless. And for those who want to found their own companies, the M.E.M. program offers encourage, support, and entrepreneurial skill development.
Recent M.E.M. graduates praise the program for preparing them for their careers and technology ventures.
Graduates report that certain skills are key to success:
M.E.M. students practice these skills in the hands-on project courses, first in the Engineering Design Methodologies sequence and then in the M.E.M. internship. Other courses use case histories to provide insight into how these skills work in a range of industrial situations.
"The M.E.M. has provided me with a unique cornerstone for my career. It has opened numerous doors and allowed me to pursue many varied interests from general management consulting in a variety of industries to venture capital investing in early stage, high tech start-up companies. My uniquely broad engineering education combined with the essential business principles taught during the course of the M.E.M. program have been invaluable resources in evaluating the technical feasibility of new ideas, determining the extent to which it is possible to transform these ideas into marketable products, and identifying opportunities within the marketplace that will foster successful growth of new companies."
—Jessica Duda, M.E.M. '99, Director of Corporate Development, Cyberkinetics Neurotechnology Systems, Inc.
Recent M.E.M. graduates are working in a variety of positions in many different companies.

M.E.M. students find career counseling and career-related resources at the Thayer School Career Services office and at Dartmouth's undergraduate Career Services office. The Alumni Networks is a good resource for a student's initial job search as well as for their lifelong career path.
Students can be mentored by faculty and members of the Corporate Collaboration Council.
