Driving Directions
From Boston area (2.5 hours), or Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (1.5 hours):
- Follow I-93 north to I-89 north
- Take Exit 18 (Route 120, Lebanon-Hanover)
- Turn right off the exit ramp
- Follow Route 120 north, straight into town (about 4 miles)
- Bear right at the light in Hanover next to the COOP foodstore and Mobil gas station
- Turn left at the second light (at the Berry Sports Center) onto Wheelock Street
- Proceed through Hanover and down the hill
- Turn right approximately halfway down the hill onto Thayer Drive
- Proceed up Thayer Drive to the top of the hill—Thayer School of Engineering is directly in front of you
- Turn right into the parking lot
- Ask the Thayer School of Engineering receptionist to call in a visitor parking permit
From western Massachusetts and Connecticut area
- Follow I-91 north to Exit 13 in Vermont (Norwich/Hanover exit)
- Turn right off the exit ramp
- Cross the Connecticut River, and continue into Hanover
- Take the second left turn after the bridge onto Thayer Drive
- Proceed up Thayer Drive to the top of the hill—Thayer School of Engineering is directly in front of you
- Turn right into the parking lot
- Ask the Thayer School of Engineering receptionist to call in a visitor parking permit
From New York City (approx. 5 hours)
- Follow I-95 to New Haven; or I-684 and I-84 to Hartford
- Take I-91 north and follow directions above

By Bus
- Vermont Transit (802) 295-3011 provides frequent service from Boston, New York, Montreal, and other points to White River Junction, Vermont—about a 15-minute taxi ride from Hanover. (Some service is also available directly to Hanover.)
- Dartmouth Coach (603) 448-2800 operates shuttle service from Boston airport to Hanover seven times a day. The fare from Logan is $35 one way or $55 round trip.
- Greyhound (1-800-231-2222) operates a service from New York to Hanover.
By Train
- Amtrak provides service from Washington, Philadelphia, New York, and northern Vermont to White River Junction, Vermont—about a 15-minute taxi ride from Hanover.
