About the Curator
Jack Wilson holds a Bachelors degree in Art from Vassar College and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is an architect and planner and teaches courses in Drawing, Architectural Design and Special Topics. He has been responsible for supervision of campus planning as well as project development, architect selection and design review for large scale capital projects at Dartmouth. He currently has a design and planning practice, Jack Wilson AIA, that includes health care, institutional, commercial and residential projects.
His work includes the design and construction of two outdoor memorials on the Dartmouth campus, a feasibility study for the renovation of Massachusetts Row, three residence halls on the Dartmouth campus and project management on the construction of an outpatient medical clinic in Meredith NH. He is also working as contributor and co-editor on a manuscript of a collection of essays on the work of Pier Luigi Nervi in the United States.
Wilson has been an invited guest critic at numerous institutions and also teaches a collaborative design class at Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth. Recent professional activities related to building performance and sustainability issues include the development and coordination of a three day Sustainable Design Symposium at Dartmouth and the development of building performance metrics for new construction based on building type. He has given talks, participated in panels and presented papers at the national conference of the American Institute of Architects, the New Hampshire AIA Conference, Efficiency Vermont, the US Green Building Council's national conference, the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association conference and the Society for College and University Planning.
