Dartmouth Formula Racing (DFR) is a student-run organization at the
Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. Founded
in 1995, our team has designed and produced award winning formula
racecars that have competed nationally at events held by the Formula
Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE). In the process, we have
produced exceptional leaders and engineers who exemplify excellence in
engineering at the Thayer School.
This year DFR enters new territory. For the past 3 years, DFR has
competed with both a E-85 ethanol powered car and a hybrid gas-electric
car each year . This year DFR is consolidating its efforts and building
a hybrid racecar exclusively. With the greater need for
alternative energy development, the team looks to be a pioneer in
promoting more efficient hybrid technology in automotive racing.
In doing so, it will pave the way for innovation in a field that grows
more important every day.
Now in our fourteenth year of competition, Dartmouth Formula Racing is
continuing to push the envelope of hybrid performance and continue a
long DFR tradition of hybrid success.
