The power electronics team works frantically through the night to get the “DC/DC” converter ready for installation on the race car.  This is the device that converts low energy output from the car’s generator into high current power that is stored in the ultra capacitors.  If you’re in the building and you are looking for something awesome to do come on down to our shop and be a volunteer!  We’re in the midst of packing the trailer for Formula Hybrid where we will take both the new hybrid car and the new ethanol powered FSAE race car.  Stay tuned for more updates as the competition unfolds throughout the week and be sure to check out the competition photo gallery for pictures of the daily events.
