Google: Career Conversation with Alum, Scott Hazard D’03, Th’04,’05

Scott majored in Eng Sciences modified with Econ at Dartmouth and continued at Thayer with a BE in '04 and MEM in '05. For his MEM internship, Scott completed a project management scope at Apple, Inc. and returned to Apple in 2005. Scott began his career in Product Design focusing on mechanical development and product integration for the Mac product family (most notably the magnetic "mag-safe" power connector that was developed during his first 2 years at Apple). Scott was then recruited internally to Retail Development; his main areas of focus were custom structural glass including the many signature staircases. Four years passed and he was recruited by Google for Product Design work on Google Glass. Scott passed on the role only to be approached 4 months later to start a team for Retail Development at Google, which he accepted. In June of 2013 Scott started at Google and has built a team of 12 across the US that handle go-to-market projects for internal Google brands including the defunct Google Glass, Google Hardware (Made by Google), and Google Fiber.
Intel: Career Conversation with Alum, Ken Hauck Th’85

Ken manages the application ecosystem for Intel's high performance computing platform by driving strategic alliances with key manufacturing industry software partners, focusing on technology adoption and solution development. He has expertise in software for mechanical design and analysis, HPC, computer graphics and cloud computing. Prior to Intel he worked at AMD and Sun Microsystems where he held positions in alliance management, product marketing, engineering management and software engineering. Ken has M.E. and B.E. degrees in engineering from Dartmouth College, where he researched turbine seals with finite element analysis for NASA, and a B.A. degree in Physics from Colgate University.
