Visions After School Science Program 11/30/2009

Some of our club members participated in the weekly Visions After school science program at Rivendell Elementary School. This week's lesson: Rocket Science! After learning about how the main booster engines on the Space Shuttle produce thrust, students tried their hand at fabricating their own rocket engines out of used film casinsters and a little bit of baking soda and vinegar for fuel. During the many successful launches, students also learned about how weight, aerodynamics, and fuel ratios affect how high the rocket will travel.
